Lutheran Community Camp is August 6-8 at Birchwood Camp for all – whole families, singles, couples, everyone!   Come for noisy camp songs, quiet and meditative worship, Bible study with Pastor Glenn, crafts and sports for kids, and nights in heated cabins.  Meals and warm showers included.  Learn more at http://www.AKLutheranCamps.org

The next Book Group meeting will be on Monday, July 26th at 7:00 pm at Central. LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES OF ALASKA

Help with HUGSS (Help Us Give School Supplies) and Coats for Kids

The HUGSS and Coats for Kids is in full swing and we still need your help.   It is not to late to donate gently used coats or school supplies.  This is a collaboration between the Anchorage School District, Catholic Social Services, The Salvation Army and LSSA.  We plan to distribute school supplies and coats to 5,500 kids in the Anchorage area.  We still need volunteers and you can go to Catholic Social Services website and find the link to HUGSS and sign up to volunteer.  LSSA is in charge of providing sandwiches and snacks to the volunteers so if you can provide food please let us know.  Call the LSSA office to volunteer at 272-0643 ext 223.  Thanks!

Sue Tonkins reports that LSSA’s food pantry particularly needs items like top ramen, cup-a-soup or any other similar foods that can be easily cooked with just water and/or heated in the microwave.  Donations may be brought to LSSA at 33rd & Spenard or to our church.
